[Trouble Shooting] Indoor Monitor Can't Monitor IP Camera

1. Verify IPC RTSP Format

Check whether the RTSP format of the IPC is correct.

  • Confirm the correct RTSP URL format from official documentation or trusted online sources
  • Ensure the stream path, username, password, and port are correctly configured
Note:
Incorrect RTSP format will prevent video stream from being established.

2. Test RTSP Stream Using VLC

Use VLC media player to verify whether the RTSP stream is accessible.

  • Open VLC
  • Select “Media → Open Network Stream”
  • Enter the RTSP URL of the IPC
  • Check whether the live video can be displayed normally
If VLC works:
RTSP stream is valid → issue may be related to device or APP integration
If VLC fails:
RTSP configuration or network access issue → verify IPC settings and network connectivity

3. Reduce IPC Stream Load (Resolution / Sub Stream)

If the issue persists, reduce the stream load for testing:

  • Lower the IPC main stream resolution (e.g., from 4MP to 1080p or lower)
  • Switch to IPC sub stream for testing
  • Retest RTSP stream in VLC or target platform
Expected Result:
If sub stream works normally, the issue is likely related to bandwidth or decoding capability of the client device.
