Troubleshooting Steps
1: Replace the Network Cable
Try using a different Ethernet cable to rule out cable-related issues.Replace the current network cable with a known working cable.
-If the device powers on with the new cable, the original cable may be faulty.
-If the problem persists, proceed to Step 2.
2: Use Terminal Power Supply (optional)
Test the device using a terminal power supply (DC power input) to bypass PoE power delivery. Locate the terminal power input on the device. Connect a suitable DC power supply (ensure correct voltage as per device specifications).
-If the device powers on via terminal power but not via PoE, the issue may be related to PoE power delivery (switch or cable).
-If the device still fails to power on via terminal power, the device itself may be defective.
3: Connect to a Different Switch
Test the device by connecting it to an alternative PoE switch. Connect it to a different PoE switch that is known to be functioning properly.
-If the device powers on with the new switch, the original switch port or switch itself may be defective.
-If the problem persists, proceed to Step 4.
4: Perform Cross-Test with a Known Working Device
Use a device that is confirmed to be working properly for a cross-test to isolate the faulty component. Take a known working device of the same model. Connect it to the original switch and network cable.
-If the known working device powers on, the issue is likely with the original device itself.
-If the known working device also fails to power on, the issue may lie with the switch, cable, or network environment, pls proceed to Step 5.
5: Reset the Device
Perform a factory reset on the device and observe whether the issue persists. Press and hold the reset button for the 10-15s.
- If the device powers on after reset, the issue may have been caused by a configuration error.
- If the problem persists, please contact the DNAKE Supptort.
6: Escalate to DNAKE Support
If the issue persists after completing all previous steps, please collect the following materials and submit them to Dnake Support for further investigation:
- Device Information
Provide the device model, serial number, mac and firmware version.
- Troubleshooting Summary
Document the results of each step performed above.
- Video Recording
Provide a video showing the device failing to power on (black screen) during the power-up process.
- Network Environment
Provide details of the switch, cable type, and PoE power budget.
